GES Message
Members, Sponsors and Friends of the Constellation of Junior Stars,
I can’t even begin to describe what an amazing honor it is to have been given the opportunity to represent Constellation, and the greatness of our Masonic family for another term. Last year, I was excited to be able to share with everyone how our Masonic family has changed my life and chose themes to reflect that. During that term we reminded ourselves to be thankful for the opportunities we are given, that family and the bonds of friendship we create in our own journeys are truly the most important things in our lives and that “shining bright” is something that we can all do to make our organizations stronger.
Last term turned out to be one of the greatest experiences of my entire life and it was because of everyone that I was able to meet on my journey. This year, though I have once again been chosen to have the title of “Grand Exalted Star” is not something I wish to refer to as “my second term.” This year is a term for every member of Constellation because it is for them, the members who make up our organizations, that we dedicate ourselves so fully to what we do in our Masonic family. Much like the youth and adult groups cannot exist without each other, the positions we hold as the leaders of our organizations wouldn’t exist without the members we represent. It is to them that we owe our successes, and even more than that, it is for them that we should do all we can to better our organizations.
So what will you see differently this year in Constellation? Most importantly you will see a shift of priorities, from the state level to the local level, where our attention and dedication is needed most. I have asked the members of our various Constellations to be planning events for their districts throughout this year. Instead of focusing on the two or three big state events their job is to build up their own districts, bringing the focus back to the amazing things that our members do throughout the year to be able to go to the state-wide functions. From local meetings and presentations to fundraisers and dinners, you will see the members of Constellation out in your districts spreading the word of our Masonic family and more importantly, showing everyone how much our youth groups bring to this amazing family.
With all the hard work that we will be doing this year, we can only ask one thing from all of you in the adult organizations, and that is support. As I said earlier, we won’t become anything, or go anywhere if we don’t give each other support we need. So this term, and in the following terms, when you hear that the members of your local Constellation are out in your community I ask that you will do all you can to help them, go out and support their cause and get involved with our organizations. Together, we will “Let Our Light Shine” over our Masonic family, and with that light will see all the potential our organizations have, and bring them to a better place.
In Constellation Love,
Alexandra Kapla
